[DAILY TRADING] AMD Analysis 23 July 2026 – AI Deals in Focus as Shares Rebound

AMD stock is having quite the week. Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) eased a modest 0.52% on the last completed 15-minute candle as of 08:41 UTC (16:41 GMT+8) on 23 July 2026, based on the Vantage AMD share CFD and the TradingView setup used for this analysis, a small pause inside a bigger three-week comeback. The AMD ticker has been buzzing: Advancing AI 2026 is still running in San Francisco, a day after AMD confirmed a partnership with Anthropic and days after an expanded Microsoft deal.[1,2] This piece reads today’s AMD news and the chart. It does not call the trade.

Key Points

  • AMD remained near the upper end of its recent rebound on 23 July 2026 after climbing from its $486.27 close on 17 July amid a broader semiconductor-sector pullback.[6]
  • This week’s AMD AI news has come thick and fast: Advancing AI 2026, the Zen 6 “Venice” EPYC launch, and fresh Helios deals with Microsoft and Anthropic.[1,2,4]
  • AMD traded above its 50-period (526.94) and 200-period (546.54) moving averages, per the TradingView setup used for this analysis, with earnings due 4 August 2026.[3]

What Today’s AMD Stock Chart Is Actually Showing

The 15-minute chart used for this analysis, spanning 1 to 23 July 2026, reads like a rollercoaster. Price opened the month near $555, spiked above $580 in early July 2026, then slid to a close of $486.27 on 17 July alongside a broader semiconductor sell-off.[6] Not a quiet month for the ticker.

From that low, AMD has clawed most of the ground back. The latest candle opened at $555.32, ran to $555.64, dipped to $550.32 and closed at $552.25, down $2.88, or 0.52%, on volume of 142.93K on the Vantage CFD feed. Both moving averages sit beneath price: 200-period at $546.54, 50-period at $526.94, per the TradingView setup used here. The RSI last read 50.21, about as neutral as it gets.

The Real AMD AI News: Advancing AI 2026 Takes Centre Stage

AMD Stock

AMD’s Advancing AI 2026 event opened in San Francisco on 22 July and ran through 23 July, with chief executive Dr Lisa Su scheduled to deliver the keynote later on 23 July.[4] The headline act: the 6th Gen EPYC “Venice” CPU line, which AMD says is the industry’s first HPC product to enter production ramp on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process technology, alongside the Helios rack-scale AI system.[4]

Helios pairs AMD’s Instinct MI450 Series GPUs with EPYC Venice CPUs, Pensando networking and ROCm software in one platform, covering three chips: the MI455X powering Helios, the MI450X for large-scale AI training and inference, and the MI430X for high-performance and sovereign AI workloads.[4] Coverage has framed Helios as AMD’s most direct shot yet at rival rack-scale AI systems, a description of what’s been announced, not how the market prices it.

Anthropic, Microsoft and the AMD Stock News Everyone’s Talking About

Two customer wins have anchored the Advancing AI news cycle. On 20 July 2026, AMD said Microsoft would deploy Helios at scale on Azure for frontier model AI inference, expanding their partnership.[2]

Then on 22 July 2026, AMD and Anthropic announced a partnership under which Anthropic plans to deploy up to two gigawatts of AMD Instinct MI450 Series GPUs, specifically the MI455X, in Helios systems, with the first gigawatt due online in the first half of 2027.[1] The pair will also collaborate on using Claude to optimise workloads for AMD Instinct GPUs. AMD has committed to an equity investment of up to $5 billion in Anthropic, building on its existing use of AMD’s MI355X GPUs.[1,5] Microsoft and Anthropic join Meta among the major customers committing to large-scale deployments of AMD’s next-generation AI infrastructure.[5]

AMD Stock Forecast? The Chart Isn’t Handing One Out

If you’re hunting for an AMD stock forecast, this is not that article. These are reference levels from the chart used for this analysis, watched rather than traded blindly off.

Level TypeLevelWhat the Chart Shows
50-period MA$526.94Shorter-lookback moving-average reference on the displayed 15-minute setup
200-period MA$546.54Longer-lookback moving-average reference, currently closer to price
Recent swing low (17 Jul)~$486.27Base of the mid-July semiconductor sector pullback
Latest 15-minute bar high$555.64High of the latest completed 15-minute bar

What to Watch

  • AMD Earnings, 4 August 2026: The next scheduled catalyst, with AI demand in focus.[3]
  • Advancing AI follow-through: More on Helios wins or the MI450 roadmap could keep shaping sentiment.[4]
  • Sector-wide semiconductor sentiment: The mid-July pullback coincided with a broader semiconductor-sector selloff.[6]

Given the size of AMD’s recent swings, from a high above $580 to a low near $486 and back above $550, gap and slippage risk remains relevant. A Stop Loss can help define an intended exit level, but it cannot eliminate gap or slippage risk; during abrupt price moves, execution may occur materially away from the specified level.

Leverage works both ways when trading AMD CFDs around a scheduled earnings date and a heavy news cycle. Position sizing relative to account equity is worth revisiting ahead of the 4 August report, especially for anyone holding correlated exposure across other semiconductor or AI-linked share CFDs.
